Demand draft also known as DD is still used by many institutions such as schools, colleges, exam conducting centers etc. for their application or admission process.
Demand Draft is a kind of money transaction medium that is used for the payment of rupees. Demand draft is one of the safest modes of transaction. Mostly, the demand draft is issued when the parties do not know each other and there is a lack of trust in them.
Demand Draft Fees SBI
The bank charges an additional fee for providing this facility. In 2007, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had fixed a fee for this facility, but its fee varies from time to time. Different banks have different charges for making demand drafts. For example, you can see the list below.

How to Make Demand Draft Online DD SBI
Step by Step Procedure For Making Demand Draft Online through SBI Bank:
Step-1: First You need to login to your SBI Online Account using your username and password. Your SBI Online Net banking Portal
Step-2: Click on Payments / Transfers Tab which is highlighted in this image.
Step-3: Scroll Down to the section > Other Payments / Receipt. And Click on the Issue Demand Draft.
Step-4: Enter Profile Password and click submit Button.
Step-5: By Default Demand Draft is set to INR 0 , you need to change the limit first.
Step-6: Fill the amount for which you want to make demand draft and also fill In Favour and purpose of payment.
Step-7: You have 2 mode of delivery option to choose Collect in Person or Courier. If you want as soon as possible you should select Collect in Person , as in my case I selected Collect in Person.
Step-8: Visit SBI With Print Out Of Demand Draft Issue Request.
Step-9: Get Demand Draft (Online DD) In Your Hand.
Demand Draft Validity
That’s it you just got your DD which is valid for 3 months from the day it is made on. the bank asks for revalidation of the draft. For this, you will have to go to the bank again and get the draft revalidated.
How to get the draft canceled
- To get the draft canceled, you have to go to your bank and write an application to get the draft canceled. The bank will again charge some of its own fees for the cancellation of the draft and will cancel that draft.
- After the cancellation of any draft, after about 10 days, your money will come into your account. In many banks, when the facility of your draft runs out, the money automatically comes into your account.
